What do our Maths Tutors Do?

 

A message from our lead tutor:

 

Maths can be fun.

It is super valuable.

It creates so many life opportunities!

 

It helps us solve, navigate and quantify so many problems and consider so many situations from different perspectives in both the real and hypothetical worlds. 

 

And of course, it can make us more successful in business, in our careers and in managing our personal finances. 

 

So many employers today need employees with good maths skills.

 

Many of the world’s top 100 companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Nvidia need highly numerate employees with sophisticated problem-solving skills.

 

As the founder of this service, I am a maths graduate based in North and North West London. 

I am a native British English speaker, former BBC Radio Four Business presenter and columnist for the Financial Times. I am also a student of pedagogy through participating in a Post Graduate Certificate in Education course and teaching in several schools.

 

My team and I are more than just Maths tutors.  We coach kids privately on maths and also on confidence at their homes in Hampstead, Finchley and some neighbouring areas.  

Because I am also a qualified and experienced life coach and counsellor, I am able to build rapport with parents and young people, listen to their concerns and motivate them to focus and to learn.

 

My team are warm, positive, skilled and committed to giving each student a positive experience.

 

We believe each student that we help has ability and deserves support and encouragement to flourish.

 

With our knowledge of pedagogy and competencies and our life  experiences, we use many different skill sets to create and sustain this environment.

Many of my students see their Maths grades improve quickly and also see improvements in their vocabulary and in their attainment in other subjects such as English.

 

We have enjoyed a lot of success coaching children with dyslexia, ADHD and other conditions.
Every child is unique and I believe every child deserves to be supported to succeed. 
I try to keep a very open mind to help anyone. While there are few guarantees in life, I have yet to met a young person or adult who hasn’t learned something from me and achieved something of considerable value as a result.

 

Increasingly, we are offering online, premium,  small-set group maths tutoring programmes, catering for around six students at a time, lasting eight weeks at a time, to accelerate student progress. In addition to group learning, we provide ongoing assessments to gauge development and also 1-2-1 support where our students need additional support.

 

I am also a qualified and experienced confidence and life coach to parents, adults and professionals, as well as to young people, in many areas of their lives. A number of business owners have been helped by me to grow their businesses and careers, and to navigate crises.

 

I have an extended DBS check and have a certificate in safeguarding in education.

 

Any appointments made are subject to a 48 hour cancellation policy or the full fee is charged.
